Illustration and Visual Development
Witch of Autumn is a digital illustration centered around a specific character design in their personal environment. For this project, I had the freedom to design my own character of any background and genre of my choosing.
Given my interest in fantasy, I designed a witch character tasked with the responsibility of bringing the Autumn season to the forest.
I started out with rough sketches and ideas, then took the most promising ones forward in character sketches.
Now that I had a promising concept for my witch, Hazel, it was time for the illustration itself!
I kept close to a warm color palette, with special attention to the golden hues of Fall. Then, using the framing of surrounding trees, I outlined a soft path the Hazel would take on her quest to turn Summer to Fall.
